With all the doom and gloom we hear in the media, there continues to be good news for the Texas housing market.  People are buying homes and FHA loans are up.  In fact Texas leads the country in the number of FHA loans!  The local market is no exception.  Dallas county is ranked #3 and Tarrant county is ranked #1 in the entire country for FHA volume!  Part of the increase is undoubtedly due to the increased loan limits for the area to $271,000 meaning a significantly higher number of properties now qualify for FHA financing that would not have qualified just a few years ago.  This has helped fuel the dramatic increase in FHA loans in Texas, up nearly 90% so far for 2008.  So the next time the doom and gloomers tell you the market is dead, just remember you live in Texas, the greatest state in these United State and home to one of the hotest housing markets!
